Connected to a network server, the JukeStream system offers an almost unlimited choice of music. The easy-to-use touchscreen interface addresses several weaknesses of typical jukeboxes. The prototype features drag and drop song selection, playlist creation with delete and reorder before payment, search by song title or artist, sort by genre and an updated weekly "Top 100 list." Since a minimum of hardware is needed in the front end unit, JukeStream can be offered in many shapes, sizes and styles, including wall mount, floor mount, table top, etc. JukeStream was developed by Bill Swersey and Fleeta Siegel with Sam Panzier as part of Masamichi Udagawa's "Designing Experience" course, fall 1997. |
